Here it is. This is the spicy challenge we've been teasing. Yes, it was hot.
So what makes up the #BrolicWhiskeySpicyChallenge ?
First we started by eating Samyang 2x Spicy noodles as fast as possible with chopsticks. Then we ate an entire home-grown Red Savina pepper*. Then we take a shot of Black Feather whiskey.
Before we can get any kind of relief we need to suffer through a 2 minute after burn. (We both ended up taking 3 minutes)
*The Red Savina was at one time the world's hottest pepper for almost 12 years before the Ghost Pepper took it's title. These came out of my own garden which were growing next to Ghost Peppers and Carolina Reapers so there is a chance these were hotter than your typical Red Savina.
If you're Brolic enough to take on the challenge, make sure to use the hash tag #BrolicWhiskeySpicyChallenge and tag us on social media.
Watch us suffering through the challenge in the video below:
If you want to take on the challenge you'll need the Samyang 2x Spicy noodles
Try to find the Red Savina pepper plant at a local nursery or from a trust worthy seed website, all the ones I've found on Amazon are listed incorrectly and have poor reviews from people saying they didn't get the correct seeds.
The Face you make when you take the #BrolicWhiskeySpicyChallenge:
As a fan of scotch and other whiskeys I was tired of looking up reviews for new whiskeys that just oozed of snobbery. I wanted to create an outlet for average Joe's who don't have a sommelier palate. Born and raised in Long Island, New York, I moved to San Diego, California in 2010 with my wife. I'm also a fan of MMA, pro-wrestling, comic books, video games and strongman. All subjects are topic for discussion on the podcast.
