We reviewed another Laphroaig whisky, this time it's the Quarter Cask.
This is a NAS single malt Scotch whisky, but from what I gather it's aged for approximately 5 years in regular sized (53 gal) barrels before being extra matured in 33 gal Quarter Casks which allows for more wood to impact the whisky.
Bottled at 48% abv this is a great addition to the Laphroaig core lineup.
On the nose it's definitely Laphroaig. That beautiful camp fire smell you'd expect with a little bit of the medicinal bandaid/iodine like aroma coming through.
On the palate it hides the 48% abv very well as there's surprisingly no sharp edges. It has plenty of smoke that makes way for a sweet mid palate and a very long finish that clings to the palate allowing you to taste it for what feels like hours after you finish.
This is a MUST TRY type of dram. The only reason I don't say must buy is because I realize, not everyone is a fan of peated Islay style whiskies...if you are a fan of peat, then this is a must buy.
BTW: This was my first time editing with this software. It's also only the 2nd video I ever edited on my own. I think this will be the program I stick with so I'm hoping I get faster at it so we can get back to uploaded 2 review videos a week.

As a fan of scotch and other whiskeys I was tired of looking up reviews for new whiskeys that just oozed of snobbery. I wanted to create an outlet for average Joe's who don't have a sommelier palate. Born and raised in Long Island, New York, I moved to San Diego, California in 2010 with my wife. I'm also a fan of MMA, pro-wrestling, comic books, video games and strongman. All subjects are topic for discussion on the podcast.
